Faro modernises existing systems, from replacing the parts that hurt most to rewriting from scratch. The goal might be stability, lower costs for hosting and licences, or a foundation that can be built on.
When it makes sense
Running it has become expensive
Licences, hosting or a technology few people can work in cost more than the system is worth.
The technology has run its course
The framework no longer gets updates, and every new feature takes longer than the last.
Nobody dares change anything
Without tests and documentation, every fix is a gamble.
Two routes
Partial modernisation
The system stays in production while the parts that cost the most are replaced one at a time: a database, an integration, an outdated framework or an expensive hosting contract.
A full rewrite
When the foundation can't carry any more, the system is rebuilt with the old one as the specification, and with a plan for moving data and users across.

Review
Casper goes through the code, operations and costs and recommends in writing which route gives the most for the money, and in what order.

Step by step
Each step goes into production before the next one starts, so the system keeps working throughout.

Handover or operations
At the end you take over the system yourself, or Faro keeps looking after it for a fixed monthly fee.
Pricing
Hourly rate with a written estimate per step. Ongoing operations afterwards for a fixed monthly fee, agreed on the size of the system.
